UPDATED at 4 p.m. June 1: Under cloudless skies and a temperature estimated at 78, members of the graduating class of 2024 at Arlington High School received their diplomas Saturday, June 1, at Warren Peirce Field behind AHS, 869 Mass.

Graduation coordinator Henry Knowlton of AHS previously said that this year’s ceremony celebrates the academic achievements of 390 students.

Remarks were delivered by High School Principal Matthew Janger, Superintendent Dr.

Elizabeth Homan and School Committee Chairman Paul Schlichtman. Robert DiLoreto, dean of the Fusco House at AHS, was this year’s master of ceremonies.

Both Janger and Schlichtman spoke early on; both mentioned the challenges that students have faced and had to cope with, including the ongoing reconstruction of the campus and the Covid-19 pandemic, which prompted mostly online
